Hearts of Oak qualified for the semi-final of the 2017 MTN FA Cup after beating Division One campaigners Danbort 1-0 at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday.

A 64th minute goal by Vicent Atinga from the penalty spot was enough to seal semi final berth for the Phobians.

Despite having joint top scorer in the league, Thomas Abbey, in their setup, the Phobians were far from an efficient attacking unit with faulty passes their major hallmark.

Striker Cosmos Dauda should nearly opened the scoring for his side in the 17th minute but his effort at goal was saved by Danbort goalkeeper Prosper Gbeku.

Ghana Premier League final day preview: Here’s what’s at stake

Vincent Atinga broke the deadlock for the Phobians in 64th minute when substitute Patrick Razak was brought down in the penalty box. Atinga stepped up and struck home from the penalty spot.

Danbort responded very well after going a goal down as they had their fair share of possessive football but the attacking prowess proved futile.

The Phobians will now face Medeama who beat Amidaus 2-1 in the other quarterfinal from the Southern zone.

Other results:

Wa All Stars 2 -0 Berekum Chelsea

(Nasiru Moro,  Seth Amoateng)

Medeama 2 -1 Amidaus
